Contemporary artist, from Barahona, Dominican Republic. He began his photography studies at Texas A&M University, where he graduated as a Civil Engineer, After a career as an Engineer and photographer, in 2003, he dedicated himself to the photography and to the performances,

His work has been exhibited at the: Venice, Havana, and the Caribbean Biennials; Infinite Island: Contemporary Caribbean Art at the Brooklyn Museum; First Cultural Festival of Countries from Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP), at the Santo Domingo Museum of Modern Art, MAM; Kréol Factory at the Grand Halle de la Villette, Paris. His photographs were included in 100 Years of Photography: 1899-1999: A Personal Vision of the XX Century, at the Discovery Museum, Bridgeport, Connecticut,

Mr. D'iaz's work has been awarded recognitions like the Award and 1st Mention at Climarte, Casa de la Americas, Cuba; Grand Editorial Prize at the V Biennial of the Caribbean; International Photography Salon in Japan, of the Asahi Shimbon ;Award and Honorific Mention at the XVIII and XXII Biennial at the Centro León in Santiago, DR ,and Award at the XVII and XV Biennial of Art, MAM, Some of Mr. Diaz's work has been collected in the books: Interiors, 2006; One Island, one landscape, 1998; Carnival Images, 1993 and Scarecrow from the South, 1984,

Mr Diaz has been reviews at: DoubleTake, Arte al día InternationaL, ARTnexus, Nouvel Observateur, L'Humanite y Afriscope. Essex University, among others, And resently wrote an article for World Policy Journal Institute, Arte al díaINTERNATIONAL ,ARTnexus, Nouvel Observateur, L'Humanite and Afriscope,At present, Mr Diaz also teaches photography to children, and Creative Photography and lectures in Santo Domingo, Martinique and Mérida, México,
